The Poetry or Normal Language - 525 Words
Poetry or Normal Language When reading poetry it is common to be slightly or totally confused. Poetry is not a simple thing to read at times because the language and structure of poetry is different from our everyday language. The way that we would normally speak effects the way that our brains intake literarily poetry. It is important that we read literature, but the form of speaking may bore or discourage most people from the readings. The fact that poetry doesnââ¬â¢t actually say what the writer means is the most difficult part. After reading a poem, most of the time I feel very puzzled. This is because poets use I different type of language than normal day to day people, like me, do. Normally, when we are speaking we say what it is that we want and need to say. Most poems are written to where we can not understand. The reason we do not understand is not because we are illiterate, but because we simply are ignorant to their vocabulary and form of writing. The poems are structured differently from a story book or a scholarly journal. I personally have a lot of difficulty reading poetry, or any literature because of the type of language that is used. At times, I myself do feel like I am a bit less intelligent because I do not comprehend literature as well as other may.
